Over the last few years the big buzz in the
CCTV industry has been the move from analog to IP video surveillance. Still the quality of video imaging and the means to transport, store and record higher quality video over IP networks has shown little improvement. Everyday we hear about High Definition (HD) while we are watching TV. High Resolution, Wide Screen and Crystal clear pictures on our new TV’s and monitors – so why not when we are trying to secure, protect and ensure the safety of our people and facilities? Although imaging technology has advanced to high definition, the architecture needed to reliably and effectively store and transport high definition surveillance video has been missing – until now.
CoVi Technologies has set a new standard in
video surveillance – High Definition video,
live and recorded, that won’t compromise
the network. Unlike traditional systems that
display and record less than perfect clarity at
lower resolutions, and create network traffic
and storage bottlenecks, CoVi delivers the
highest quality standard at every point of
contact, from initial capture to access, storage and management – without impacting the network.
CoVi video surveillance systems deliver HD
resolution (1280 x 720) compared to 640 x 480 or even something less like 320 x 240. With higher resolution, image clarity is improved for more accurate identification and investigation. Think about the possibilities and benefits that HD quality video will bring to your video surveillance system:
- Higher quality video delivers enhanced
image clarity
- Greater resolution provides increased
definition and detail
- 30% wider field of view enables more
coverage per camera
The benefits of High Definition image quality
are realized as a result of CoVi’s unique edgebased architecture. Unlike conventional
surveillance system architecture that is centralized and requires video quality to be
downgraded for transport and storage, CoVi
has moved storage and recording to the network edge. High Definition video can now be monitored, accessed and stored – video quality is not degraded, and the network is not impacted. Security professionals have access to the highest quality video for
investigation and prosecution while IT
professionals are assured network integrity is not compromised.
Here is a brief description and guide on
the system.
CoVi surveillance solutions are open, scalable
systems that support any camera: digital,
analog or IP, and any software: video
analytics, video surveillance and more.
CoVi Crystal HD – the CoVi High Definition
system is comprised of CoVi High Definition
camera, DMM (Digital Media Manager) and
Management and Monitoring software for
optimal video surveillance:
High-performance video surveillance starts
with high quality imaging. The CoVi CVQ
series MultiStream™ cameras employ a
megapixel progressive scan sensor to capture HD resolution (1280 x 720) video. |
The CoVi HD cameras provide up to 12 times greater resolution and a 30 percent wider field of view than analog cameras, giving you much better quality video information to easily monitor multiple areas of interest.
The CoVi MultiStream feature enables up to
6 different video streams from a single camera allowing operators to select which resolution best suits their environment. Remote workers may choose to view a lower resolution stream and on-demand ‘boost’ the video up to high definition quality to see more detail.
Each camera connects to a CoVi Distributed
Media Manager (DMM.) where video is
stored and recorded – even up to HD video
can be recorded for reliable post-event
analysis and investigation The cameras
and DMM are easily accessed, and monitored, via CoVi’s Crystal HD™ Surveillance
Suite software.
Crystal HD is the world’s only high-definition,
distributed, IP-based video surveillance
system, and is part of the CoVi family of surveillance solutions providing unparalleled
performance and reliability for even the
most demanding surveillance applications.
CoVi solutions dramatically improve the
quality, usability, scalability, and affordability
of CCTV and IP video surveillance. Here are
some great applications and solutions to
think about:
1. Parking Lots and garages
2. Perimeter protection
3. Entrances and exits
4. Monitoring of assets
5. Vehicle and License plate Identification
Whether you’re looking to upgrade existing
systems or build a new, state-of-the-art video surveillance network, CoVi offers seamless integration and a powerful set of features such as high-definition recording, zoom views, and electronic pan-tilt-zoom.
Sound Incorporated is a CoVi Crystal Certified Solution Provider (CSP) CoVi is also a member of the Lenel OnGuard Open Access Alliance Program where they have received Lenel certification and interfaced to Lenel’s OnGuard total security management solution.
